Forward Geocoding matches an address to its correct location on the map by converting an address into geographical coordinates. Applications submit addresses or a search string containing partial address information. The result is either a single record exactly matching the input, or a set of records ranked by relevance when the input is ambiguous.
The AfriGIS Reverse Geocoding API takes a coordinate (latitude, longitude) and finds the closest address, street or crossing street nearest to the point. It can also determine to what suburb or town the point belongs to.
The AfriGIS Submit Address service is a suite of REST calls for you to submit an unknown or incorrect address to the AfriGIS Data team for correction, if you have not been able to locate it using AfriGIS Search.
